AWARD-WINNING PROJECT SHOWCASED AT GRAND DESIGNS LIVE 2011

Apropos collaboration with Calderpeel takes centre stage for design show

An award-winning project by Apropos took centre stage at Grand Designs Live 2011.

The new-build project recently scooped the ‘Best Glasshouse’ prize at the 2011 International Design & Architecture Awards, and attracted lots of attention from visitors to the three-day showpiece event, held at Birmingham’s NEC.

The project saw Apropos design engineer, manufacture and install almost 30 pieces of bespoke glass structure for just one property; including folding sliding doors, rooflights, floor-to-ceiling windows, and glazed inserts.

Altrincham-based architects, Calderpeel, project managed the development.

With award success fresh in the minds, and Grand Designs Live imminent, Apropos invited Calderpeel to share their stand at the NEC; along with Knutsford-based Uber Interiors, another winner from the recent design awards.

Cheryl Stevenson, Apropos’ marketing manager, said, “We have worked closely with Calderpeel on a number of projects, and following our recent award success, we were delighted that they agreed to join us at Grand Designs Live to showcase this fine project.”

As well as this particular project, our individual projects also attracted a lot of interest which, when combined with Uber Interiors’ furnishings display, perfectly presented the complementary services of the companies to visitors."
