APROPOS WINS MAJOR INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARD

Bespoke glass and aluminium structure specialists win ‘Glasshouse’ gong

Apropos has won a major international design and architecture award.

The Ashton-under-Lyne company won the ‘Glasshouse’ category at the 2011 Design et al International Design & Architecture Awards, held last Friday (16th September) at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hyde Park, London.

The award relates to a private, new-build project in Cheshire, in which Apropos design engineered, manufactured and installed almost 30 pieces of bespoke glass structure; including folding sliding doors, rooflights, floor-to-ceiling windows, and glazed inserts.

The work was undertaken in collaboration with Altrincham-based Calder Peel Architects, who project-managed the build.

Commenting on the award win, Michael Barnes, Apropos’ managing director, said, “We are delighted to have received international recognition for our bespoke design engineering. Apropos has a rich heritage of working with prestigious clients on both national and international projects, and this award endorses that fine heritage.

“Apropos has a tradition of innovation and quality stretching back over 70 years, and we have stayed ahead of our competitors by constantly striving to improve our standards and employing a highly talented team of employees. This award is a testament to their skills and expertise, and I would like to thank them all for their hard work.”
