No design 'Glass ceiling' for bespoke conservatories

Today’s aluminium bespoke conservatories are a world away from the eighties uPVC stereotype

Magnificent, modern day, aluminium, bespoke conservatories owe nothing to the shoddy, white, ‘off the shelf’, UPVC conservatories that dominated the 1980s conservatory market, and blighted properties across the country.

Thankfully, three decades on and consumer tastes and expectations have improved, meaning bespoke conservatories are more popular than ever. Fuelled by television programmes such as Grand Designs, more and more homeowners want their own piece of bespoke architecture. And, thanks to their increasing affordability, bespoke conservatories are proving to be a popular choice.

Apropos’ excellent tradition for designing and creating bespoke conservatories is endorsed by the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. The company’s expertise for bespoke conservatories extends from magnificent two-storey structures, to small and stylish lean-to bespoke conservatories for terraced properties. There is simply no design glass ceiling for Apropos’ bespoke conservatories.

Below we provide a handy guide to the general designs available for bespoke conservatories:

Lean-to bespoke conservatories

Lean-to bespoke conservatories are hugely popular, but Apropos’ individual designs means clients always enjoy bespoke conservatories that are unique and unmatched for their quality. Lean-to bespoke conservatories are extremely versatile, and can be designed for the rear or side of properties.

Reverse lean-to bespoke conservatories

Reverse lean-to bespoke conservatories maximise space and light with their inverted roof design. The roofs of these bespoke conservatories are angled upwards away from the main property, meaning they provide homeowners with an increasingly larger area of space and height. This makes them an ideal choice for smaller properties or bungalows.

Link bespoke conservatories

Link bespoke conservatories perfectly connect separate buildings– such as a farmhouse and a converted barn - to create one harmonious area. Link bespoke conservatories are also ideal for making use of external ‘dead’ space, such as an unused patio that is surrounded on two or three sides by the main property.

Orangeries

Technically speaking, orangeries are not bespoke conservatories. However, orangeries are proving a popular choice for listed or period properties, thanks to their sturdier structures that merge effortlessly with the original property.

Bespoke extensions

Bespoke extensions take bespoke conservatories to a new level. Designed for a specific use, bespoke extensions provide properties with a true ‘wow’ factor. Amazing kitchens, dining rooms, or living rooms can be housed in bespoke extensions, or jaw dropping homes ‘hubs’ which combine different uses in one amazing living space.
