Apropos expands with new design engineer.
Leading glass and aluminium structure specialist Apropos Tectonic have recently hired Marc Dootson to join its ever expanding team. Marc has joined them as a design engineer whose day to day work will include creating general arrangement drawings for the production of our glass and aluminium structures as well as developing our existing in house software.
Apropos, based in Ashton-under-Lyne, design and build cutting edge bespoke conservatories, orangeries, pool houses and lean to’s. Over the past year Apropos have expanded their business by creating Atelier, who design and manufacture garden studios and ClearSpan who design and manufacture slim-line folding sliding doors, roof lights and windows.
Marc has vb.net certification as well as being City and Guilds certified. Marc’s previous experience as a fabricator and progressed onto a roof design engineer and AutoCAD Technician, using in house software and AutoCAD to design conservatories.
As well as design experience Marc’s previous job roles have included IT Manager and PReS(print language) software developer, in which involved new system builds, technical support, networking, integrating backup systems and all other aspects of the companies IT and programming.
Marc applied for the position in order to build on his programming experience as well as expanding his CAD portfolio. “I saw it as a great opportunity to push my programming skills forward. That, also coupled with the use of my previous CAD design skills made the job even more appealing. With my previous IT background I also believe that my IT skills could also be beneficial to the company.”
