APROPOS CASE STUDY FEATURES IN THE SUNDAY EXPRESS
24th May 2011
A project undertaken by Apropos has featured in the Sunday Express.
The project - the entire glazing work on a new build property in Cheshire - was featured in last Sunday's edition of the Express (22nd May 2011), as an example of how glass can be used to bring greater light into a home with the use of rooflights and folding sliding doors.

The featured project was as follows:
BRIEF
Apropos was proud to provide a complete glazing service for this new build project in Cheshire.
COST
c.£210,000 (exc. external and internal construction work. As a new build property the work undertaken was exempt of VAT.)
DETAILS
The project involved fitting all the glazing throughout the new build project. This included an impressive glazed corridor that linked a beautiful open-plan side kitchen and living space with the rest of the property. This area was complemented by sets of folding, sliding doors that opened up the entire space to a wonderful patio.
In addition, the inclusion of rooflights allowed light to flow into the property, glazed balconies were created for some of the bedrooms, and the inclusion of dormer windows created traditional features that sat elegantly with the clean, contemporary nature of the project.
“This was an exciting venture for Apropos,” says Paul Schofield, Apropos’ commercial manager. “It allowed us to stamp Apropos’ quality throughout the entire project. Every single aspect of the glazing installation was bespoke. Nothing was ‘off the shelf’. Each pane of glass and aluminium frame was manufactured to the customer’s precise requirement.”
“Furthermore, the project proved that not every home requires the addition of a conservatory to create light, free-flowing living areas. The installation of folding sliding doors or rooflights can be equally effective when the design requires. In many respects this project would have been ripe for a magnificent conservatory or an orangery, but working with the architect, we were able to provide the home with as much light and freedom as the client wanted, and in doing so helped create an outstanding home in the process.”
