Period property conservatory
Client: Based in Cheshire in a period stone property.
Brief: To create a substantial Conservatory to abut a significant extension; maintaining the geometric lines of the property whilst at the same time avoiding the obvious.
Summary: We were contacted by our clients in February 2005 following a recommendation by their architect. Plans for the extension were in place as was a design for the Conservatory. Our challenge was to provide an engineered solution conforming to the design which featured a striking diagonally hipped roof spanning some 6 metres; our solution was accepted in April 2005. The remainder of 2005 was taken up by construction of the extension and base for the Apropos structure which was delivered and installed in February of 2006.
The finished Conservatory is a compliment to the original building as well as the newly built extension. In scale it is perfect and in design it is truly in keeping with the property.
