Orangeries – the new trend in home improvements
Each year the home improvements market has new ways of creating more space and more light into your property. This year has seen an increase in the sales of folding sliding doors and roof lights to create an orangery effect. An orangery is an extension built using separate glazed elements usually roof lights and folding sliding doors.
An orangery is an ideal way to bring space and light to any property. An orangery can be used as a dining room, kitchen, living room or playroom the possibilities are endless. The folding sliding doors on an orangery can be opened out to bring the outside in. Flushed tracking can be added to create a seamless boundary between your house and garden.
Roof lights by apropos can include opening vents which can allow the air to flow through your orangery. The slim frames by apropos allow for more glass meaning more light in your property. The contemporary aluminium frames allow an orangery to be added to any type of house from a modern townhouse to a period farm house.
Orangeries can be designed in all shapes and sizes with different shape roof lights to create interest within the room. And orangery can have folding sliding doors on just the one side or they can surround the structure so it can be opened out fully in the hot weather.
Orangeries are not just a possibility as a new extension on a property but can also be created on existing rooms or structures. The glazed elements for an orangery can be combined with timber, brick or stone to create a light airy space suitable for any purpose.
