Beat the VAT increase
of 2010 the Chancellor will be increasing VAT by 2.5% in an attempt to recuperate the deficit of the Nations debt. VAT will rise to 20% on the 4th January next year and it is predicted to raise around £1 billion a month for the Treasury. However, Apropos want to protect our customers against the VAT increase, honouring installations in the early part of 2011 at the lower rate of VAT, if the order is confirmed by end of 2010.
Is a 2.5% VAT increase sufficient reason to place an order before 2011? Maybe, but on top of the VAT rise next year we anticipate increases in the costs of our key raw materials namely aluminium and glass as global demand for these commodities increases which will mean inevitable price increases to our customers. We can insure against these by buying forward which is exactly what we are doing – why not take advantage and place your order before 2011?
