Lack of UK housing to see more conservatories built?
People may decide to build conservatories after one expert claimed there is not enough property being developed in the UK.
Steve Turner, head of communications at the Home Builders Federation, was speaking after it was revealed there were 23,000 seasonally adjusted house building starts for the December 2010 quarter.
The Department for Communities and Local Government noted this figure was 11 per cent lower than for the three months to September.
Because of the slowdown in construction, many people may decide a bespoke conservatory may be the answer for them.
This is because it will give homeowners more room, without forcing them to move dwellings.
Mr Turner stated the issues of mortgage availability and frailties within the current planning system have to be addressed.
"We have got to see the implementation of the new planning system as a matter of urgency because it will be vital in providing viable land in the right places," he added.
