'Consider function of room' when building conservatory
People who are looking to build a conservatory need to think about what its function will be.
This is according to Brian Berry, director of external affairs at the Federation of Master Builders, who said individuals should decide if it is going to be used as a playroom, a study or a place for the family to relax.
He added: "This will help inform the size and layout of the conservatory but remember it isn't always best to just add the biggest conservatory."
The reason for this is that the bespoke construction has to complement the proportions of the house and garden, as people do not want the situation to develop whereby it dwarfs either.
Mr Berry continued by saying that it is important it does not appear like an "add-on" once it is finished.
Mark Goodwin, director of external affairs at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, recently said support for the housing sector has to come from the government in its next budget.
