Crests to feature in conservatories?
People looking to add a little zest to their conservatory may be interested to know crests are making a comeback in 2011.
According to the London Evening Standard, with The King's Speech expected to clean up at the Oscars and the royal wedding coming in April, it is unsurprising this trend is back.
Charlie Gladstone, founder of mail-order company Pedlar's, said: "We are all yearning for things that feel comfortable and secure and homely and crowns and crests fit the bill."
It means individuals could be tempted to team neutral coloured walls with embroidered rugs, cushions and ornaments.
Emma Bridgewater, who runs the company Emma Bridgewater, said she is thrilled to see crests making a reappearance.
The reason she is such a big fan of crests is that they "celebrate a sense of continuity and tradition".
Interior designer Adrienne Chinn recently encouraged homeowners to be brave when they are redecorating their properties.
