Fashion making its way into kitchen accessories
Homeowners renovating their properties with improvements such as glazed kitchen extensions or bespoke conservatories may be interested to hear that interior accessories are taking a lead from the world of fashion.
According to BlissHome founder and managing director Gabrielle Bliss, Brits are now looking to transfer their favourite designers' individual styles into their homes, using accessories to do so.
"People are much savvier these days and they have more of an awareness of fashion designers," she said.
Ms Bliss pointed to Orla Kiely as being the most successful designer who has made the transition to the homewear market.
The expert noted that Ms Kiely "really understands the whole concept of applying pattern" to her products, making them particularly desirable.
"I think it's quite exciting that someone is prepared to put pattern into a kitchen - it's very bold. We've had colour before but not pattern," she added.
The BlissHome boss was talking at the recent Homes4Media show, where she presented a new range of kitchen accessories.
