Grey and slate 'great colours for kitchens'
Brits planning to invest in a new kitchen extension could be interested in the latest comments from Garden Trading.
The firm explained that a trend has emerged for slate and grey colours in the kitchen and that the shades work well in both contemporary and traditional homes.
Managing director Jon Holloway said the firm is always keen to keep up with the latest developments in the world of interior design colours.
He added that "we are always coming up with our own colours that we think are the next step from what's already out there".
Discussing Garden Trading's colour palate at the latest Homes4Media event, Mr Holloway noted that black can be too harsh for kitchens, but the softer slate colour looks great in farmhouses and modern homes alike.
The expert claimed that grey and slate were "sophisticated" and that their popularity has stemmed from the trends from a few years ago, when everyone loved creams.
"We saw a trend with kitchens coming much more in the grey palate, so we softened ours to a grey, putty colour. It looks great next to other colours," he revealed.
