Millions of Brits to improve homes
Millions of homeowners are set to invest in home improvements such as bespoke conservatories and folding sliding doors.
According to new research, 18 million Brits will make changes to their property over the next 12 months.
The average spend will be £2,831, with 53 per cent of respondents simply wishing to update their house, according to the Everest poll.
However, more than two-fifths (43 per cent) are hoping to cut the running costs of their home, while 3.3 million Brits will focus on the exterior.
Build It magazine editor Anna-Marie DeSouza recently explained that DIY is becoming very popular.
"The number of homeowners improving their properties rather than moving has continued to increase for the last few years.
Meanwhile, separate research from Churchill showed that a large proportion of Brits do not properly maintain their buildings.
Almost half (49 per cent) do not clear their gutters or downpipes, while 68 per cent of households with damp make no effort to dry it out.
Furthermore, approximately two-fifths of UK boilers are going unserviced, the research discovered.
