Londoners given home improvement class opportunity

17 September 2010

Londoners who wish they were better at home improvement are being given a chance to pick up new skills at a forthcoming event in Ealing.

Chix & Mortar will hold a two-day course on September 25th and 26th, with Big Brother winner and celebrity builder Craig Phillips as the host.

While large projects, such as bespoke conservatories and pool houses, are best left to the experts, it can be very useful and cost-effective to know how to properly decorate your own home.

The course will focus on a number of techniques, including tiling, laying floors, basic plumbing and household maintenance.

As well as skills, the course is aimed at boosting confidence and understanding to help Brits make the most of their homes.

Originally designed for women, Chix & Mortar now caters for men and couples too and each course includes refreshments certificates, overalls, notes and builders' tea.

As well as this venture, Phillips has made a number of inroads into the media, with a book and regular appearances on shows such as Bo Selecta among his credits.
