Scots in good position to afford conservatories
Property owners in Scotland may be in the best position to afford home improvements such as bespoke conservatories or pool houses.
This is because recent research from the Council of Mortgage Lenders has shown that Scots use less of their income to cover their home loans than residents of any other area in the UK.
According to ESPC, house prices in Scotland are cheaper than most other parts of Britain, although there are some exceptions.
"The average house price in Scotland is generally lower than in other areas of the United Kingdom," explained business analyst David Marshall.
"Mortgage repayments would be lower than in most other areas."
He added that the whole country is benefiting from low interest rates and that those who already had a mortgage are likely to have low repayments at the moment.
Mr Marshall noted that Scotland has always been affordable in comparison to the rest of the UK, but pointed out that there are some exclusive areas in the country that are more expensive than the British average.
