Green improvements boost property values
Brits who are having a bespoke conservatory or pool house built to boost the value of their home may also wish to install solar panels.
According to the National Home Improvement Show (NHIS), those who follow the example of Prince Charles can add approximately five per cent to their property's worth.
The prince's Clarence House residence is set to install solar panels after receiving permission from Westminster City Council.
NHIS spokesman Michael Holmes explained that Brits who invest in green technology can save cash, boost the value of their home and safeguard the futures of generations to come.
"With many homeowners looking to add value to their home to combat falling house prices, retrofitting a home, like Prince Charles has done, can be considered the ultimate responsible home improvement," he said.
Ensuring the property is properly insulated and fitted out with low-energy appliances and lighting is also a useful way of cutting energy bills and reducing the building's carbon footprint.
