Seaside conservatory owners could see buyer interest rise
Homeowners with a bespoke conservatory or glazed kitchen extension overlooking the sea could see demand for their property increase in the coming months.
According to Waterside Properties, houses on the coast are still attracting interest from buyers.
Managing director Peter Halliday said that people are still keen to move to seaside locations, despite the number of transactions involving such properties being lower now than it was in 2007.
"Most of the people that buy through Waterside Properties are buying for a lifestyle move," he explained.
"They are selling up their family home and moving down to the coast. That is still happening in reasonable numbers."
However, the expert noted that some transactions are being put on hold as homeowners are struggling to sell their inland properties to finance the move to the coast.
Recent research from Halifax showed that Sandbanks is still the most expensive seaside area in the UK, while five of the ten best value coastal towns are also located on the south cost.
