How colour can affect a home's mood
Homeowners who have invested in a bespoke conservatory or kitchen extension may be interested in new advice appearing in a national newspaper.
The Daily Telegraph today (August 3) published an article which explained how the use of colour can impact on the mood of a property.
It noted how orange tones can create a "warm and sensual" environment which is perfect for kitchens - not least because they make you feel hungry.
Meanwhile, green is ideal for bedrooms, especially when mixed with pink, the newspaper added.
"Harmonious and soothing, but can be chilly if not combined with warmer hues. Suitable for living rooms if you use it solely as your sanctuary," it explained.
Red is energising and good for stimulating conversation, but can often encourage people not to linger, which makes it suitable for bathrooms that are fought over by family members.
Studies could be decorated in blue as the serenity it provides is perfect for intellectual work, the newspaper advised.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror recently suggested that a conservatory is a great way to add space to a home.
