Modern conservatory owners 'leaning towards antique furniture'
Bespoke conservatory owners are becoming increasingly selective about how they furnish them, according to a new report published today (July 26th).
A blog entry appearing on the official website of Christian Davies Antiques has conceded that when it comes to design, conservatories are now very modern.
However, the article also noted that the same cannot be said for the furniture inside them, with owners now favouring a variety of antique cane and wicker pieces.
"Well preserved Edwardian cane and wicker antique furniture can still be found today and many people are choosing to buy antique rather than modern for their conservatories," read one section of the report.
The article also suggested that anyone buying period pieces should ensure that they check them thoroughly for woodworm and weaknesses in the cane and wicker construction.
Last week, furniture designer Amanda Hutson claimed that bespoke conservatory owners can really tap into their creative instincts when they are deciding how to fill the space inside them.
