Don't get hung up on house prices, Brits told
Brits planning to construct a pool house or bespoke conservatory on their property should not get hung up on the ups and downs of the housing market.
According to Mouseprice.com, consumers should not get hung up on the wider implications of the recent fall in prices.
Halifax figures show that sale prices were 0.6 per cent down in June, but Mouseprice.com director Selwyn Lim suggested that people should be more concerned with their own circumstances than that of the market.
"I don't think there is a reason for homeowners to get hung up on what is happening in the wider economy," he said.
"They should always be making decisions based on factors that are specific to them."
Specifically, those buying a new property should do so at a time that suits them, not because the market dictates that they do.
Mr Lim noted that the Halifax House Price Index can be "very volatile" in nature and that people should not be concerned by a monthly dip.
