UK domestic energy consumption skyrockets
Brits may be encouraged to invest in a bespoke conservatory to flood their home with natural light after an Office for National Statistics study revealed the nation's electricity consumption has rocketed.

However, the study also revealed that carbon monoxide emissions fell by 71 per cent during the same period, while sulphur dioxide emissions fell by 92 per cent.
In terms of generating power from renewable sources, the UK came 18th out of 27 European Union nations.
