Prestigious furniture fair in Chelsea Barracks
Brits who have invested in a bespoke conservatory may be interested in attending an event taking place in London.
The Chelsea Barracks is hosting the Masterpiece Fair, where visitors can peruse and buy in excess of £1 billion worth of fine furniture and art.
According to English and continental furniture dealer Mallett, the event represents the pinnacle of the industry and will really help London's art market.
Chief executive Giles Hutchinson Smith explained that the fair will provide an interesting insight into where the market is going.
"Looking at expectations for the future, the barometer for that is how much business we do this year, but at the same time it's based around the enthusiasm of the dealers themselves and they have been incredibly supportive," he said.
Mr Hutchinson Smith added that the collection could be moved to the Royal Hospital if a deal can be struck to make it the permanent home of the event.
Meanwhile, Sotheby's has reported an 87 per cent increase in revenue for the first quarter of 2010.
