Blinds firm to help cut child injuries
Brits who have invested in a lean-to conservatory and are considering purchasing bespoke blinds may be interested in a warning from one specialist firm.
Apollo Blinds pointed out that the cords commonly used to operate blinds can be a safety risk to children.
It has moved to minimise the chances of its products harming youngsters by pledging to give away thousands of safety devices.
The decision is part of Child Safety Week and Apollo's Make Blinds Child Safe campaign, which aims to highlight the dangers of unsecured window blind chords.
According to the British Blind and Shutter Association, there are 100 million window blinds in the UK.
Apollo general manager Gary Chambers explained that there are regulations in place to protect children, but the firm feels more should be done.
Meanwhile, those who installed their conservatory to boost the value of their home may wish to check out the latest Land Registry House Price Index, which is due out on June 28th.
