Brits set for World Cup DIY rush
Homeowners in the UK are set to rush through a number of property improvement projects over the next week, it has been claimed.
The Fifa World Cup kicks off next Friday (June 11th) and is set to be a major focus of attention for many.
As such, Build It & Home Improvement magazine expects Brits to fast track their work to allow them to properly enjoy international football's premier competition.
Deputy editor Anna-Marie DeSouza explained that a combination of the World Cup and hot weather could make people spring into action.
"There will probably be a huge rush on to get jobs done and the garden ready for World Cup barbecues and celebrations, so plants, garden furniture and barbeque sales are likely to soar," she said.
Ms DeSouza suggested that the recent slump in sales at home and garden chain B&Q may soon reverse thanks to the sunshine and football.
