How to reduce energy bills
People who have installed a bespoke lean-to conservatory as part of wider plans to make their home more energy efficient should consider certain changes to succeed in their goals.
According to E.ON and the University of Sheffield, Brits would benefit from making certain behavioural alterations, as well as carrying out work on their building.
E.ON spokeswoman Emma Thompson suggested that people could make their homes more efficient by investing in insulation.
She noted that many steps to improve a house's eco-friendliness are also done with financial rewards in mind and that insulation is a great example of how this can work, with it typically paying for itself in a year.
"Make sure your curtains are open on a sunny day - this will heat your room," Ms Thompson added.
"Try not to use your tumble dryer, especially at this time of year when you can hang your washing outside."
She added that small steps like encouraging the kids to play outside can also have an impact on energy bills.
