Housing market 'full of timewasters'
Brits who have invested in a lean-to conservatory or other bespoke home improvement may be interested in the latest comments from Briffy.com.
According to the firm, the new government's decision to scrap home information packs (Hips) has lead to the housing market becoming flooded with "timewasters".
Rightmove recently released figures which show that the number of new property listings on its website has increased by more than a third (35.4 per cent) since the decision was made.
Welsh homeowners helped push up the percentage with the market in Wales flooded by a 66 per cent rise in new sellers.
Briffy.com founder David Amstell noted that many of these people may not necessarily be looking to sell and might be simply testing the water to see what price they might get for their home.
"[We have] probably just got a lot of time wasters out there now testing the market and if they get a reasonable price they may sell, but if they don't then they have lost nothing and it has just cost the estate agent his marketing fees," he said.
