Thousands of Scots improve homes
Thousands of Scottish homeowners have moved swiftly to take up a recent home improvement offer.
The Scottish parliament announced in April that households would be able to apply for a grant to go towards buying a new green boiler.
Launched on May 24th, the imitative lasted just two days as each of the 5,000 vouchers were allocated within the first 48 hours.
Homeowners were able to claim vouchers for £400 off the cost of a new green boiler, with the scheme aiming to help them cut both their fuel bills and emissions.
Buderus national sales manager Mike Southall explained that the boiler and solar panel industry has enjoyed a good start to the year, despite a "pretty quiet" April.
"We feel fairly confident that it will pick up and the busy time for us is always going to be July and August," he said.
Mr Southall added that the dip in sales during April may have been down to the election.
