Green homes event in Manchester
Homeowners with an interest in eco-friendly home improvements may be interested in an event taking place in Manchester this week.
The Greenbuild Expo began yesterday (May 26th) and gives the main players in the sustainable building industry a chance to demonstrate their products.
Organisations in attendance include the Building Research Establishment, the UK Green Building Council and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
With the UK building market still in a state of transition following the recession, some companies were feeling optimistic about the future, while others were concerned about the grey areas left as a result of the new coalition government.
Geothermal International director of housing Stewart Purchase explained that he was feeling positive about the event.
"We did the EcoBuild Exhibition in London recently which was absolutely rammed. It was very well attended - I think over 40,000 people in three days," he revealed.
Mr Purchase noted that the turnout was even more impressive when you consider that it was a business-to-business show and not a public event.
