Home improvement firm celebrates centenary
Home improvement enthusiasts may be interested to know that a firm that has become synonymous with DIY is celebrating its centenary year.
Power tool giant Black & Decker has been producing products for homeowners for 100 years and has come a long way in that time.
Founded by Duncan Black and Alonzo Decker, the company started life as a small machine shop in 1910.
In the intervening ten decades, it has become one of the most recognisable names in home improvement.
To celebrate, it is offering Brits the chance to buy one product and get one free, with B&Q, Homebase and Focus stores nationwide taking part.
A number of consumer competitions will also take place throughout the year and customers are being encouraged to find out more by heading to the firm's website at blackanddecker.eu/100years.
