The case for quality glazing
The case for installing energy-efficient glazing in a home has been made by the British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC).
According to the organisation, homeowners can save almost £500 per year by having such products in their home.
Whether it is the windows or a bespoke lean-to conservatory, heat can escape through glazing if it is of poor quality or has been installed incorrectly.
Figures from the BFRC show that a third of Brits believe that most domestic heat is lost through the roof, when in fact it is through poorly-insulated glazing.
Director for technical affairs Giles Willson explained that the cost of reglazing your home depends on how much glass is in it.
"Each homeowner lives in different sized houses, and the number of windows, the size of windows, the style, the space, everything will change," he said.
Mr Willson added that Brits can calculate how much they would save by using the tool on the BFRC website.
