UK housing market 'still volatile'
Bespoke lean-to conservatories and pool houses may be an increasingly attractive option after it was claimed that the property market is set to remain volatile.
According to Ducalian, the industry is still unpredictable and trends in sales are changing on a monthly basis.
Recent National Association of Estate Agents figures show that there was a rise in the number of house purchases in April, but homeowners should not be fooled into thinking the market's woes are over.
Ducalian senior consultant Andrew Styles explained that lending in the mortgage sector would remain tight over the next few years.
"Property sales currently change on a monthly basis and have recently been centred on the lack of available housing stock. We have actually seen a reduction in mortgage approvals in the months of March and April," he revealed.
The expert added that he believes the market is still fragile and that prices are vulnerable to volatility.
Mr Styles claimed that the market will eventually recover, but that the question remained as to how long this would take.
