Mortgage brokers expect market to improve
Brits who have invested in home improvements such as lean-to conservatories in the hope of attracting buyers when the housing market returns to normal may be pleased by new figures from Paragon Mortgages.
The statistics show that most mortgage brokers expect business levels to increase over the next three months.
According to the data, 58 per cent of brokers are predicting a rise in activity, with an average expected increase of 6.7 per cent.
What Mortgage editor Ben Wilkie said: "Speaking anecdotally to mortgage brokers, they are seeing business improving over the months and they are fairly confident about the rest of the year."
The expert added that companies also seem to be relaxing their criteria and are fairly open to approving up to 90 per cent loan-to-value deals.
He suggested that this may be good news for first-time buyers and therefore also for those looking to sell their property.
