Scottish property market on the up
Scottish homeowners may be considering investing in a bespoke conservatory or other home improvement to help them take advantage of the increased activity in the property market.
New figures show that the number of housing transactions taking place in Scotland has increased by a quarter in the past 12 months.
The statistics from the Registers of Scotland show that the average Scottish home is now worth £147,854, which equates to a 5.4 per cent year-on-year rise.
Rettie & Co managing director Simon Rettie warned that transaction levels are still historically low and that this is affecting house prices.
"We are seeing a lot less volume than perhaps would be required. As a result, that in some ways is holding up the prices because there is still relatively strong demand and relatively limited supply," he explained
The expert added that things are looking up, with his firm noticing "significant increases" in business in the past two months.
