How to reinvigorate a carpet
Brits who have invested in a home improvement such as a glazed extension, roof light or loft conversion may find that their carpets have taken a pounding from dirty feet and dust.
However, there is no need to waste money on buying a new one if the vacuum just cannot handle the mess.
According to Rug Doctor, homeowners can bring their carpets back to life by renting one of its products.
Doing so also takes away the expense of having to employ a professional cleaner to restore rugs to pristine condition.
The firm said that summer is the ideal time to clean carpets as they will dry quicker, saving time as well as money.
"If you can fill a bucket and can vacuum a carpet then you can use a Rug Doctor; it's that simple," said Paul Fildes, marketing manager of Rug Doctor.
Meanwhile, those who would rather devote their summer to improving their home could head to the Grand Designs Live show, which is taking place in London this week.
