Remember garden insurance, conservatory owners told
Conservatory owners who have invested in their gardens to improve their view should ensure that they have adequate insurance, it has been claimed.
According to moneysupermarket.com the two forthcoming bank holiday weekends will see Brits taking to their outdoor spaces in numbers, with barbecues and parties a common theme.
It explained that the difference in garden cover between insurers can be massive with some offering unlimited payouts, while others are willing to cover just £250 worth of contents.
Head of home insurance at the website Julie Owens explained that it can be easy to forget about garden items when getting home insurance cover.
"Whether you have acres of space filled with garden gnomes, a landscaped paradise to enjoy this year or you've forked out for the latest high-tech gas barbecues or patio heaters, the costs can easily run into the thousands," she said.
Ms Owens added that it is "essential" for Brits to take this into consideration and ensure they have the correct level of cover, or risk a large bill in the event of theft or damage.
