Improving the conservatory view
Those who have invested in a bespoke conservatory have been given some tips on cleaning up their garden to help improve the view.
The Handy Squad explained that the May bank holiday weekend offers a great opportunity to get the yard tidied up.
It suggests that the best way to make a visual impact in the garden is to use a pressure washer to clean the patio or use deck cleaner on old decking to remove dirt and mildew.
The firm added that it can often be more cost effective to buy a pressure washer than to rent one.
Meanwhile, outdoor furniture can be sanded down, cleaned and re-painted, with the company noting that wrapping brushes in cling film between coats will stop them drying out.
The paint brushes can also be used to inject colour into the garden - The Handy Squad explained that the quickest way to brighten up the green space is to buy an inexpensive trellis and paint it.
Other ideas include hanging flower baskets, lanterns and fairy lights.
Meanwhile, those looking to spruce up their gardens could add some lavender, which is the Horticultural Trades Association's plant of the month.
