Solar power investment 'makes sense'
Brits investing in a bespoke conservatory or other form of home improvement may wish to combine it with solar power.
It was recently predicted that the renewable energy source industry will become a "really good growth market" in the next few years.
Going Solar co-founder James Meynell explained that there had been a rise in interest in Photovoltaic (PV) panels, which has been helped by the government's feed-in tariff initiative that was announced earlier this year.
"You're not only going to save yourself money by producing your own electricity ... the government gives you a certain amount of money back just for producing that electricity," he explained.
Mr Meynell added that he hopes the government will roll out similar incentives for other things like water-heating solar technology.
The Department of Energy and Climate Change explained that a well-placed solar panel could earn homeowners a £900 grant and cut their energy bills by £140 per year.
