Don't be afraid of DIY, Brits told
Brits have been urged to take the initiative when it comes to upgrading their property.
According to JML resident DIY and car care presenter Andrew Bernard, property owners should not be afraid of making their home improvement dreams a reality.
He said that all too often people are too afraid to indulge their creative side and update their homes, but that with the proper safety precautions anything should be possible.
While some things, such as erecting a bespoke conservatory, may be best left to the experts, others can be done by most able-bodied individuals.
"The tip I always give people is; it's an old cliche but safety first, DIY second," Mr Bernard said.
The expert added that simply taking the time to plan out a home improvement and doing the relevant research can pay dividends.
He noted that any mistakes should be seen as learning experiences and not complete disasters.
In other news, the Daily Telegraph recently featured an article by interior designer Nina Campbell which suggested that Brits redecorate every five years.
