Bold colours can update a home
Brits who have invested in a bespoke conservatory and wish to give the rest of their home a new look should use bold colours, it has been claimed.
According to the firm behind the Ideal Home Show, statement tones are "the way forward" for people looking to give their property a new lease of life.
Media 10 group marketing manager Rob Nathan explained that brighter shades are a key trend to emerge from the home improvement event, which took place between March 20th and April 5th.
"There will always be a sway ... towards pastel colours but what our ambassadors and experts are trying to push together is a lot of bold ... colours; oranges and reds that in the past might have been seen as slightly passe but they are coming back into the fore now," he said.
The show featured how to classes from interior design expert Linda Barker, who explained to onlookers how they can "make-do-and-mend" by taking existing pieces of furniture and adding a "design twist".
Meanwhile, a recent article in the Times suggested the catwalk trend for nautical design could transcend the gap between clothing and housing fashion.
