Election could change face of property market
Brits considering whether to move home or stay put and improve could have their decision swayed by the results of next month's general election.
According to Briffy.com, the housing market could be impacted by how the public votes, with a change of government likely to boost the market.
Founder David Amstell explained that a Conservative win could spark positivity among buyers and sellers, but noted that a Labour victory could have adverse affects.
He suggested that many Brits see the current regime as responsible for the "mess" of the property industry and that this could have implications dependent on the results.
Recent FindaProperty.com research showed that 39.1 per cent of people believe that a Conservative government would improve the housing market, while just 13.7 per cent feel Labour could have the same effect.
Mr Amstell said that general elections and Budget decisions often have some impact on the industry and that many people are putting off selling or buying due to uncertainty.
Those who decide that staying put and improving their current home is the best option could install a bespoke conservatory, pool house or kitchen extension.
