Locked Up Monitored Security suggested that its wire-free home automation system could be the future of home safety.
The technology allows users to activate their system via remote control, allowing them to manage their home's security while on the move.
Compatibility with desktop computers and iPhones mean that homeowners can control a number of aspects of their home, from the alarm to lights and curtains.
Owner and business strategist Martin West explained that the devices let users make it appear as though someone is at home and can even be used to turn music on and off.
The smart technology recognises the difference between a family pet and an intruder and can also be used to grant temporary access to certain areas of the home, such as the garage or conservatory, if a delivery is due.
Meanwhile, paint firm Dulux recently suggested that those improving their home mix neutral colours with brighter tones to achieve a trendy contrast.
