Brits looking to home improvements for value

According to DJD Architects, homeowners are hoping for increased value for money and recognise that this is obtainable by choosing their developments wisely.
Associate director James Pugh explained that people are now realising that spending a little more can have a big effect on the final outcome.
He added that energy efficiency has become "much more on people's minds", with many looking to cut their fuel bills and help the environment.
Home improvements such as pool houses and bespoke conservatories could soon cost less, with a coalition of 22 organisations lobbying the government to cut VAT on such installations from 17.5 per cent to five per cent.
The Cut the Vat Coalition has claimed that such a move would boost the UK economy by £1.4 billion this year and £17 billion over the next nine years.
