Second home owners more likely to improve
Brits living in their second home are more inclined to invest in improving it, such as adding a bespoke conservatory or other extension, it has been claimed.
According to Ratedpeople.com founder and chief executive Andrew Skipwith, those who have sold their first property and moved on are more concerned with making a family home than first-time buyers.
He suggested that those living in their first owned property are simply happy to get on the property ladder, but second home owners are keener to make their mark on their house.
"Second-time movers are more likely to have cash to spend on home improvements and look towards making bigger alterations to their home to suit their needs over a longer period," Mr Skipwith said.
The expert noted that many Brits start their family in their second home and that this means they are more willing to invest in it.
Meanwhile, the York Press recently revealed that one of the city's most popular eateries is also keen to improve by building a conservatory.
