Double-sized glazed doors and windows 'create light, bright houses'
Sliding, glazed doors are one of the best means of giving the illusion of space to a new home, it has been claimed.
A number of studies and experts have already pointed to the energy and money-saving benefits of fitting double-glazing to a home.
However, now designers have cited the effectiveness of full-length glazed doors in making a property seem not only chic and contemporary, but also far bigger than it really is.
Indeed, speaking to Property Talk Live, the sales director of Pentland Homes, Janet Burnell, has explained that double-height glazing, as well as up-to-the-minute interiors, are proving massively popular with a range of buyers all looking to "defy the stereotype" of a new-build.
"New homes often undergo criticism for being cramped, but we have defied that concept by creating spacious, open plan, light and bright houses," she said.
Just last month, homeowners were advised by Linda Barker, who was speaking in her role as a representative of the Ideal Home Show, that, when it comes to home design, bespoke projects are now the way forward.
