Ill woman's kids appeal for conservatory help

09 March 2010

The children of a seriously ill Dartford woman have appealed for help to build their mother a conservatory.

Corrienne Strong has been forced to sleep in her garden for the past six years by the debilitating condition ME, which causes her breathing problems, NewsShopper.co.uk reported.

She claims that the outdoor air allows her to sleep at night and that staying indoors can make her feel like she is suffocating.

However, the 45-year-old regularly has to sleep in heavy rain and has been forced to endure another harsh winter outdoors.

Her children have appealed to the online resource's readers in the hope of raising around £2,000 to build a conservatory where their mother can sleep under shelter with the windows and doors open to allow fresh air in.

"A conservatory where I could be kept safe and dry and still be able to grab oxygen by leaving doors open would be less stressful for the kids as they don't want anything to happen to me, they've seen so much already," she told the website.

Meanwhile, Crown Paints has suggested that the Easter holidays could be an ideal time to upgrade the home.
