Lancashire home to be given conservatory as part of major renovation
A Lancashire property that formerly served as a refuge for victims of domestic violence is to benefit from the introduction of a state-of-the-art conservatory as it is transformed into a residential care home.
Since the Radcliffe property ceased being a refuge back in 2007, it has lain empty, despite its potential.
However, the Lancashire Telegraph has now reported that the Caring Homes Group is to spend a 'six-figure sum' on renovating the home, with a top-class conservatory to be fitted alongside a rear extension.
After getting the green light for the development plans from the local council, the company's Ray Godwin told the newspaper: "I am also delighted that such a lovely old property will once again be brought back into use."
He added: "I'm passionate about local history and am keen to learn more about its past. I'm also committed to enhancing and maintaining the building's period charm and character."
Meanwhile, Sir Cliff Richard, whose own conservatory plans fell foul of planning regulations, is set to move into a new home in Barbados, the Daily Mail has reported, though it is not yet known what glazed canopies the new place boasts.
