Hertfordshire conservatory owner denied planning consent
The owner of a home in Hertfordshire has been left disappointed after failing to achieve planning permission for a new single-storey extension.
According to planningresource.co.uk, the consent was denied due to the presence of existing home improvements, such as a conservatory and two-storey rear and side extension, which had added 49 sq m to the property.
The planned work would have replaced the conservatory, but taken the total added space to 67 sq m which, at 53 per cent, was ruled to be too large an increase on the original floor space of 127 sq m.
A planning inspector stated that other factors had been taken into consideration, including the fact that the extension would have run along almost the entire length of the house.
Meanwhile, the Chorley Guardian has revealed that two glazed structures have been damaged by an electrical fire, which also burned a nearby caravan and shattered conservatory glass.
