Southampton's Ocean Village complex will be home to a stunning new glass hotel thanks to the go ahead being given to developers for a new £50 million hotel.
Marina Developments Ltd is planning the 224-room glass-fronted hotel for the Ocean Village.
The design shows that it will be constructed on the promontory side of the marina.
The hotel will also feature a stunning waterfront "events piazza" to complement the sleek glass wall along one side of the structure, and to host sailing events.
Not only will the hotel look amazing however but there will be some green touches to it too, as it has been reported that an innovative seawater cooling system will replace air conditioning throughout the structure, saving both energy and costs.
This is just the latest in a number of new high-profile UK buildings to feature glass as a major part of the design.
Another recent addition the UK's formidable list of beautiful glass structures was Birmingham's Snowhill development, an inverted wedge-shaped multi-purpose development.
Those looking to add a unique glazed element to their home may consider a bespoke conservatory, lean-to or glazed canopy.
