New development 'ideal for summer'

Those looking to host a housewarming party this summer could find the Martingales development from David Wilson Homes suits their needs.

A selection of three and four-bedroom houses are under construction on the site, with a number of features aimed at letting a little light into the property.

These include a bay window in the lounge and patio doors from the dining room directly into the garden.

David Wilson Homes asserts: "The home's separate dining room with patio doors gives potential purchasers the perfect excuse to host a barbeque with friends and family."

However, it is not necessary to buy a new house in order to fit sliding doors to allow direct access to the patio.

In 2007, industry news source Buildingtalk noted that comedian Patrick McGuinness had undertaken a process of renovation on his home.

This included the installation of sliding doors and new windows, including a bespoke arched aperture in one wall.
